DFLT is excited to announce that we are now a Conservation Partner with Fish and Wildlife Volunteers
At Desert Foothills Land Trust, we know that conservation is a team effort. Our mission to protect and preserve our unique desert landscapes and wildlife habitats requires dedicated hands, passionate hearts, and committed volunteers. That's why we're thrilled to announce our new partnership with Fish & Wildlife Volunteers (FWV).
This partnership is a perfect match: Desert Foothills Land Trust has meaningful conservation work that needs doing, and Fish & Wildlife Volunteers has a community of trained, passionate volunteers ready to make a difference.
Fish & Wildlife Volunteers is a program of 2% for Conservation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with nearly a decade of experience in conservation volunteer work. Since 2016, they have certified tens of thousands of volunteer hours and supported tens of millions of dollars donated to fish and wildlife conservation by their membership.
In 2025, FWV launched their renewed focus exclusively on volunteered time for conservation, expanding their world-class training and support to include individual volunteers alongside their established business certification program. Their collaborative approach has made them the longest-running certifier of conservation volunteer work by businesses.
The reality of land conservation is that there's always more work to be done than resources available. Desert Foothills Land Trust consistently needs dedicated volunteers for trail maintenance, invasive species removal, educational outreach, habitat restoration, wildlife monitoring, and countless other essential conservation activities. Meanwhile, Fish & Wildlife Volunteers has cultivated a network of individuals and businesses eager to contribute their time and skills to meaningful conservation work.
Together, we're proving that through partnership, extraordinary things happen for wildlife and wild places.
