Desert Discovery Day!

Unplug and join us for a day of digital detox, fresh air, fun, and adventure!

Join us for the 14th annual Desert Discovery Day on November 14, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the beautiful Jewel of the Creek Preserve in Cave Creek. This free family festival features hands-on activities, close encounters with native wildlife, and interactive exhibits celebrating the wonders of the Sonoran Desert. We invite the community to connect with nature and learn about the conservation work that protects our desert home.

Plan Your Visit

Date: Saturday, November 14th, 10 am - 2 pm

Location: Jewel of the Creek Preserve, Cave Creek, Arizona

Parking: Spur Cross Lot - Get Directions

Drop-in event - stay for a few minutes or the whole event. Plan for at least 90 minutes to explore the whole preserve.
No registration required. We ask that groups of 10 or more reach out to info@dflt.org so we can help you make the most of your visit.
Restrooms available on-site.
The trail is not stroller or wheelchair accessible.
Please bring sun protection and water to stay comfortable throughout the day.

The beautiful Jewel of the Creek Preserve is owned by Desert Foothills Land Trust and located 4 miles north of the Town of Cave Creek. The preserve abuts the 2,000 acre Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area, a Maricopa County Park.
