DFLT's Premiere Fundraising Event, Sonoran Stars
As the Land Trust looks forward to celebrating the 21st year of our premiere fundraising event, Sonoran Stars, we thought it would be enjoyable to reminisce about our prior events. Sonoran Stars, or as it was known back then, Sonoran Symphony, was first held in May 1996 at the Rancho Mañana Resort. We were thrilled to have Marshall Trimble and Sheriff Joe Arpaio as honorary co-chairmen that year. Through the years, we've always been proud of the fabulous entertainers who've performed at Sonoran Stars. Past performers include the Phoenix Symphony led by conductor Bob Moody, Michael Martin Murphey, Rex Allen Jr., and Lacey J. Dalton, just to name a few.

This year we are very excited to feature some real western characters from The Prescott Regulators and Their Shady Ladies during the cocktail reception.

The event will be held at the Opera House at Carefree Resort and Conference Center which promises to be the perfect backdrop for an authentic "old west experience" under the beautiful Sonoran stars. At dusk, guests will be able to see the release of a wild owl that has been rehabilitated by the local raptor rescue organization, Wild At Heart, which demonstrates the imperative need for protected lands in our area. After this, guests will be treated to a gourmet dinner and more entertainment in the Opera House. Everyone in attendance will have an opportunity to win a unique item or a once-in-a-lifetime experience during the exciting live auction. Guests can also try their luck by purchasing a "mystery bag", for a chance to win one or more of the fabulous prizes. Please come dressed in your favorite western attire and be ready for a lively evening under the stars. The tickets are $250 per person. Please gather your friends to host your own table of 10. Businesses and individual sponsorships are available and appreciated. We hope to see you there!
