Paint Out on Lone Mountain
An exclusive plein air event
Thursday, December 6, 8 am - 11:30 am
Join us for an exclusive plein air painting opportunity! Get inspired by the amazing vegetation, rock formations and vistas on Lone Mountain to create a masterpiece. Nancy Romanovsky, juried member of Arizona Plein Air Painters and Signature Member of Women Artists of the West will offer guidance for the novice oil painter, but painters of all experience levels and mediums are welcome. This is the perfect place to start a piece for entry in the Land Trust's "It's Art for Land's Sake" exhibit.
Hosted by Nancy Romanovsky the paint out will take place at the H.B. Wallace Preserve on Lone Mountain which is protected by the Land Trust through a conservation easement and only accessible to the public with a Land Trust guide. The trail is rocky and has an elevation gain of over 400 ft. at the summit. Artists are encouraged to take pictures for inspiration and may choose to stop and sketch or paint anywhere along the trail. Those who stop will rejoin the group on their return from the summit. Paint time and hike difficulty will be determined by each artist's chosen location.
The trail head is located in a gated community with limited parking. Participants will meet at a pre-determined location nearby with public facilities and carpool to the preserve. Please note that there are no facilities at the preserve. Artists should come prepared to hike with appropriate footwear and clothing and be able to carry their art supplies and set ups in a pack worn on their backs (no rolling bags). A suggested supply list will be provided upon request and other pertinent details will be shared with all registered participants prior to the event.
Space is limited, so sign up now to reserve your spot!
