Maricopa Trail Adoption
Desert Foothills Land Trust has "adopted" a 6-mile stretch of the Maricopa Trail, between Interstate 17 and New River Road. The Maricopa Trail is an incredible community resource that will one day encircle the entire Valley, connecting protected open spaces such as city and county parks and preserves. Much of the Maricopa Trail in the North Valley is already completed.
The Land Trust will host at least two Maricopa Trail stewardship events each year in order to help care for and share this resource with the community. Our first such event, co-hosted with the Anthem Community Council and Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department on December 6, 2014 was a resounding success, and we are grateful to the volunteers who came out to help us!
You can visit the Maricopa County Park and Recreation website for more information about the Maricopa Trail.
We'll see you on the trail!
