Sonoran Symphony 2004
As the sun set on the evening of Saturday, May 1,
guests of the Desert Foothills Land Trust's Sonoran Symphony 2004
were treated to an evening of Symphonic Western music amid the
beautiful landscape they hoped to preserve. Some 650 guests attended
the popular "Dinner and Concert Under the Stars," which
featured entertainment by Western Vocalist Don Edwards, Cowboy Poet
Waddie Mitchell and The Phoenix Symphony.
The benefit began at 5:30 p.m. at Rancho Mañana Golf Resort in Cave
Creek with a reception followed by a gourmet dinner prepared and
served by the award-winning Tonto Bar & Grill. In addition, the
non-profit organization, Wild at Heart, released a great-horned owl
into the desert after DFLT Board president Vivian Marr and event
chair Dawn Hopkins welcomed guests. Several prominent guests

The Sonoran Symphony raised approximately $68,000 to
benefit the Desert Foothills Land Trust.
